My parents are from Hong Kong, and I was born in the Netherlands and studied in hotel management with a focus on sales, marketing and communications. I have spent over 10 years working with iconic luxury hotel brands such as Shangri-La, Mandarin Oriental, and The Ritz-Carlton in Asia and in 2010, I founded Infinite Luxury Group to support luxury hotels, lifestyle brands and destinations seeking to grow in Asia, especially in Greater China. Today, after hundreds of campaigns across the region, my passion for high-end travel and meaningful brand storytelling is stronger than ever.

Tell us about your place of residence, city or region, activity and what you like about your hometown.

Today, I call Shanghai home. It is a city that never stops moving — fast-paced, full of energy, and constantly evolving. Shanghai inspires me every day with its “can-do” spirit, cultural diversity, and dynamic business scene. It is the perfect base for someone building a cross-continental luxury travel and lifestyle business.

Your must-see addresses near you?

I live near Xintiandi, right in the heart of Puxi — a lively neighborhood with endless dining and cultural options. For Chinese dumplings, I never tire of Din Tai Fung. Brunch? French brasserie Polux never disappoints. Drinks at the Waldorf Astoria or dinner at Mercato with sweeping Bund views are always a treat. Shanghai’s art scene is thriving, with international and local exhibitions happening constantly. From established museums to emerging galleries, it is a city that feeds your curiosity.

Your favorite places on Earth?

Every destination offers something unique, but in recent years, I have been especially drawn to Africa — for its vast landscapes, wildlife, and deep sense of connection with nature. It reminds me to stay grounded. As someone who lives and breathes luxury hospitality and lifestyle, these experiences add perspective and purpose to the work we do.

Do you think it is important to travel, and why?

Absolutely. Travel allows us to better understand the world and each other. Many misunderstandings — and even conflicts — stem from a lack of cultural empathy. Personally, I find travel humbling. The world is so much bigger than our daily worries. And in this industry, even as we curate luxury, travel reconnects us with what really matters: people, stories, and discovery.

What do you think about the future of travel and what should citizens consider?

The future of travel lies in going deeper, not just farther. Discovering (remote) places, staying longer, and engaging more meaningfully with destinations will shape the next era of tourism.

What would you advise?

Whether you are exploring a buzzing city or immersing yourself in the wild, a truly great journey should leave an impression. And for hotels? A prime location, thoughtful design, and personal service are just the starting point. What sets a property apart is its story — its values, sense of place, and what it stands for. Every hotel in the Infinite Luxury Group portfolio is handpicked by me with this philosophy in mind.

As a woman, how do you see the future of our society?

Perhaps it is my upbringing, the industry I am in, or the environment I have chosen — but I have never allowed my gender to define my place professionally. I don’t look at people through a male or female lens. I believe in competence, confidence, and showing up with purpose. My advice to women: don’t overthink it. Walk into that meeting, speak up, and know your value.

How do you contribute to women’s causes? Are there any women who inspire you?

Many of the hotel brands we represent have strong community and conservation programs — many focus on women. By amplifying their work through sales and marketing, we indirectly support these important causes. Over the years, I have had the privilege of connecting with inspiring women who have launched foundations and initiatives that uplift others in tangible ways. I hope to contribute more time to these causes myself in the future — not just professionally, but personally.

What would be your travel dream?

To be honest, I am already living it. Luxury travel is the heart of what we do at Infinite Luxury Group. I select the destinations and hotels we represent, visit them firsthand, and then return with key travel trade partners and media to experience and promote them together in Asia. We are not just a representation agency — we are true brand ambassadors. It is a privilege to connect world-class hospitality and lifestyle brands with the right audience and see meaningful business results unfold.
